Vision Boards
Happy New Year!!
One of my favorite ways to start the new year is to create a Vision Board.
A vision board is a collage of images and words representing a person’s wishes or goals, intended to serve as inspiration or motivation. A vision board could be created for the year, monthly, or even seasonal.
What You’ll Need:
Poster board, Cork board, or object of choice
If making a digital version you could use Canva, The Landing, or Adobe
Scissors
Glue
Images (Magazines or Pinterest/Internet Images)
Time
Your Vision Board could include the following:
Short-term goals
Long-term goals
Personal Goals
Big Dreams
Stuff like health, fitness, travel, money, creation, dream job, house or apartment.
The most important thing for you to remember is that this is your own goals. Images should inspire you and make you feel motivated. These are your dreams.
Before you begin here are some questions you could journal about that will help with your vision board creation.
What goals are you working toward?
Imagine you’ve reached your goals, what does that look like?
What images or quotes represent the life you want to live.
What do you see yourself doing this year.
Once you’ve made your vision board what do you do with it?
First, make sure it is somewhere you can always see it. That way it reminds you a little bit each day of your goals.
Next, start developing a plan of action. How are you going to reach your dreams? Maybe its saving 10$ a day or scheduling more photoshoots for yourself. Whatever it is start incorporating these images into your daily life.
Finally, let’s say it’s the end of the year or end of the month and you’re looking over everything you’ve done. It’s easy for us to feel discouraged if everything on our vision board didn’t come true or look a certain way.
Here’s my challenge to you! Ask yourself in what ways did my visions come true. They often are in ways that are different looking or a different solution to the original goal.
The best thing to remember is that you deserve to dream and work hard for yourself.
Happy New Year!! Let’s make it a great one!
