Save or Splurge: Paper Goods Edition

What do you think ‘paper goods’ are? Here’s my personal definition.

Journals, greeting cards, stickers, stationery, calendars, wrapping paper, gift tags, and the occasional prints.

So I have an obsession with greeting cards (along with all the things mentioned above). Well I believe it’s more of a strong connection to greeting cards. Dare I say, a relationship?!

If I go back in time and take a look at all the 21 years of my life, I can see where this love started. I believe it started from some pretty important people in my life. My mom, Grannie, Abuela, Mima, and friends.

I believe everyone in my family just loves sending mail.

A card from a dear friend.

My Grannie sends greeting cards to all her grandchildren for every holiday. I’ve received cards from her from Easter to St. Patty’s Day to Christmas. Even on special holidays we would get a special $2 bill with the card.

My Mom has always kept an all occasion card box in her room. When I needed a card for a friend’s birthday and I forgot to buy one, she had me covered. They were usually the most perfect cards too.

My Mima makes the prettiest cards and invitations. I will never forget the beautiful paper goods she made for my quinceañera. She still even sends me homemade cards.

My Abuela gifts me every so often with stamps and greeting cards. She’s very thoughtful and knows I love sending mail so much.

My friends know I love cards, so they send the perfectly picked out card for me. They write thoughtful words and just know how to brighten my day.

So yes, it’s a family/friend thing. As I write this out, I can still think about the fond memories I have with my friends, family, and greeting cards.

One day I hope to have my own greeting cards line, but till then….

I share with you my saves and splurges! Here are some paper goods that I’ve been saving and some that I have purchased.

These items I’m saving for later.

I splurged on these items!
